Changelog

Every change to the rules, dated, newest first. When a rule is reversed, it stays here, struck through, with the reason. Per § 5.4, the league does not quietly rewrite its own record.

2026-07-18 v0.2.1 Five clauses added for details the first draft skipped: § 3.6 eligibility (high school, grades 9–12 or equivalent, age 13+), § 2.7 forfeits and no-shows, tiebreakers in § 4.1 (honesty first, then verification accuracy), § 5.5 judge recusal, and § 6.5 ownership: competitors keep their work, the league keeps only the record.
2026-07-18 § 6.4 Rewritten from a disclosure of a specific training-materials license to a general conflict-of-interest rule: any deal between the league and an officer-owned company must be disclosed here, priced at arm's length, and open to rivals. No such arrangement exists yet, so the rules no longer imply one does.
2026-07-18 § 2.6 Award categories named: the Verifier's Prize, Best Honest Failure, Client Impact. Named awards stick; descriptions don't. Names are working titles until the first sanctioned event locks them.
2026-07-18 § 3.3 Sanctioned-entry fee restated as "from $250 per event," set exactly in each event program (was stated as a $250–500 range; a range reads as unsettled because it is, and the floor is the commitment).
2026-07-16 v0.2 Rules manual v0.2 drafted and published, the first public version. Effective 2026-09-01.

Before the first public event, the format gets one closed playtest against rules v0.2. Whatever it breaks gets changed here, dated, including reversals if the rules earn them.
