THE PATHTHREE STEPS, IN ORDER

01 Get 3–6 people Your friend group is a legal roster. Robotics teams, clubs, homeschool co-ops, and library groups all qualify. A chapter doesn't have to live inside a school.

02 Get one teacher to sign This is the step chapters die on, so here is the exact thing to send, word for word. The memo it points to (/advisors) answers every question a teacher actually has: job, hours, cost, liability, who runs this. It prints.

Hi [teacher], a few of us want to start a MADE chapter and it needs one faculty advisor: your signature on one form, and being in the room at events. This one-page memo is the whole ask: [site]/advisors/ . Would you read it?

03 Tell us you are starting one There is no paperwork to sign yet. The founding form is being reviewed before it goes in front of any school, so right now the only step is telling us. We will come back to you when it is ready. Money only ever enters if you later choose to enter a sanctioned event, and by then you will have a date and a reason to fundraise against.
